Where are the Nittany Highlands Apartments located?
The Nittany Highlands Apartments are located at 793 Myers Drive, Upper Burrell, PA 15068 – an easy walk to the campus located directly across the street.
How can I take a tour of the Nittany Highlands Apartments?
Schedule a tour of the apartments in conjunction with a Penn State New Kensington campus tour by calling 724-334-LION or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The apartments are managed by Arbors Management, Inc. Contact Eric Fulmer at 800-963-1280 or 412-254-8723 and by email.
Are there student RAs?
Yes, the apartment building provides a residence hall-like experience with upper-class student leaders living in the building as community assistants. They work closely with the apartment management to provide direct assistance to residents, monitor guests and address immediate issues.
Are the apartments furnished?
All apartments are furnished. Kitchens are furnished with a refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, garbage disposal, kitchen table and chairs. Living rooms are furnished with a sofa, 2 chairs and a coffee table. Bedrooms are furnished with twin beds, dresser, lamp and desk. A bedroom closet is available for each student resident, in addition to storage in hallway and utility closets. Bathrooms feature a shower and dual sinks. Individual apartments also may control their own air conditioning, thermostat and water heater. (New in 2014, the first floor apartments will be unfurnished, to offer residents the opportunity to bring their own furniture.)
Where can residents receive mail?
Each apartment has its own mailbox in the building where students can receive personal mail. There are several package mailboxes to accommodate larger mail items. Mail should be addressed to:

Do you offer flexible leases?
Yes, semester leases are available. Review our Lease Options for 2014-15 (pdf)
Do residents need to arrange for utilities before moving in?
No, residents do not need to arrange for utilities for individual apartments. All utilities are included in the rent at the Nittany Highlands Apartments.
What about cable and internet?
The apartment building is wired for cable and internet with Comcast. Students can choose the package that best meets the needs of their individual apartment unit.
Is the building secure? What security measures are in place to keep residents safe?
Yes, the Nittany Highlands Apartments building features secured entry. For the safety and security for all residents, the door to the building is locked 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Residents use their electronic access card and a passcode to enter the building. Individual apartments are also secured by lock. There are security cameras on each floor of the building as well as a fire detection network in case of an emergency. Upper Burrell Police Department is less than a mile away, and the campus University police officer has jurisdiction extending from the campus to the property where the apartment complex is located.
Are there any rules or regulations regarding guests/overnight guest(s)?
Yes, overnight guests must register with the RA on duty. Please see the lease agreement for details.
What sizes are the apartments?
There are 2 and 3 bedroom apartments available for rent. Private bedrooms are available, though quantities are limited.
What are the featured building amenities?
There is on-site laundry available on the second floor for residents. Vending machines (drinks and snacks) are also available. There is free parking and the campus shuttle stops at the apartment complex on weekends.
Are the Nittany Highlands Apartments smoke free?
Yes, the apartments are smoke free. There are sitting areas conveniently located near the entrance and on the side of the building for residents.
If don’t have access to a vehicle are there transportation services nearby?
Yes, the Penn State New Kensington campus shuttle stops in the apartment’s parking lot. The campus shuttle runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the fall and spring semester. Click here for campus shuttle schedule.

Are pets permitted?
No, in consideration to residents who may be allergic to animals pets are not permitted.
Where can I store my furniture and other personal items over the summer if I cannot take them with me?
