Dr. Kevin J.G Snider
Dr. Kevin Snider was appointed the campus’ eighth chancellor in 2008. He is the former chief of staff and executive assistant to the president for strategic planning, institutional research and effectiveness at Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Ind.
His vision for the campus includes enhancing the learning experience for students. Programs, such as the “Barbara J. Arnold Global Initiatives Program Support Fund,” have opened the world to campus students and helped them develop the cultural competencies needed to be highly successful in tomorrow’s workplace.
A resident of Allegheny Township, which is adjacent to Lower Burrell and five miles from campus, Snider received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from San Francisco State University. He received his doctorate in political science from The American University, Washington, D.C. He began his academic career as an admissions counselor at the College of Notre Dame.
Snider's research interests include student behavior and strategic planning, particularly in the areas of student success and direction setting. He has published several articles and given numerous presentations on a variety of topics in strategic planning, assessment, and institutional research. He is a trained facilitator in creative problem solving and a past president of the Consortium for Assessment and Planning Support. His personal interests are writing and playing music, golf, and lap swimming.
