'Montana Marie Gets Gunned Down at Three'

Murder Mystery
6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 3, Café 780

“All right! Whoooo did it? Whoooo did it?”
James Cagney as Captain Morton in “Mr. Roberts”

Wipe off the duster, order a sarsaparilla, and don a ten-gallon thinking cap because somebody done did the sheriff wrong; and you gotta find the dirty rotten scoundrel. The audience will be a part of the show at Penn State New Kensington's murder mystery dinner theater, "'Montana Marie Gets Gunned Down at Three" at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 3, in the campus' Cafe 780.

While the legendary sheriff-and-deputy duos such as Andy Taylor and Barney Fife, Quick Draw McGraw and Baba Looey, and Ricochet Rabbit and Droop-a-long Coyote are anxious to get on the case, the interactive production will rely on the audience to ascertain the identity of the culprit. Seated in the midst of a saloon-full of unsavory (and savory) characters, would-be sleuths must finger the suspect, who blends in with the indigenous populace of Camel Rock, a frontier town in the Old West.

Tickets are $5 for students with an ID, $10 for faculty and staff, and $15 for the general public. Price includes dinner and the theater performance. To reserve your seat, contact Lauren Blum, student life coordinator, at 724- 334-6063 or ldb14@psu.edu

The production is handled by the cast of Mystery's Most Wanted, a Pittsburgh-based ensemble. Mystery's Most Wanted has been performing murder mystery dinner theatre in the region for 12 years. The troupe comprises five professional character actors who have strong improvisation skills. They write and perform the original comedic mysteries. Montana Marie or “Shoot Out at the Yippee Yi Yo K Y” was written by David J. Fielding.
