July art exhibit features avian photographer
NATURALIST STEVE GOSSER COMBINES
BIRD WATCHING AND PHOTOGRAPHY
The works of avian photographer Steve Gosser will be on display beginning July 2 in the Penn State New Kensington Art Gallery.
Gosser's exhibit, "My Feathered Friends-Bird Portraits," is a selection of the more than 300 different bird species that he has photographed in the wild. The solo display runs through July 29.
A resident of New Kensington, Gosser began combining bird watching and photography about seven years ago. He spends his weekends travelling throughout western Pennsylvania, looking for new species and waiting for that once-in-a-lifetime-shot. During the week, he works for the aptly named Traveler’s Insurance Co. in Pittsburgh.
A reception for the naturalist and photographer is set from 4 to 6 p,.m., Sunday, July 8, in the Art Gallery.The exhibit and reception are free to the public. To RSVP for the reception, contact Tina Sluss at 724-334-6056 or firstname.lastname@example.org via email.
The gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and noon to 5 p.m. weekends. The June exhibit features the paintings by artists Kerri Ann McKenna and David Peters.
