Why Penn State New Kensington?  Scholarships

Penn State New Kensington students work hard both in and out of the classroom. In fact, more than 90 percent of our students work at least 15 hours per week.

However, even with steady income from their part-time jobs, some prospective students are concerned about the price tag associated with the investment in higher education. Penn State New Kensington lessens the financial burden of one fifth of its students by awarding scholarships.

During the 2011-2012 academic year, over 150 Penn State New Kensington students were scholarship recipients, with awards ranging from $500 to $2,500 per student. Money raised for scholarships comes from faculty, staff, alumni, friends and businesses that believe in the campus and its mission. The total amount of scholarship money distributed by the Office of Student Aid last year was more than $190,000.

quoteScholarships have a special impact at Penn State New Kensington, and we are proud to provide our academically-talented students with a Blue-White Scholarship. We hope these awards will help students to achieve a Penn State degree -- a significant first step in transforming their lives, end quote said Financial Aid Coordinator Jennifer Marino.

All new and returning Penn State New Kensington students are considered for any scholarships offered by the University and the campus.
